Witnessed history today. Would have been great to go to LDN, but it'll always be there. Got a better view of it ALL from my living room.
To be honest, many were sceptical. But seeing them wave from the balcony, I feel hope for the country once again.
And once again, I'm proud to be British.
You can see what I wrote on the YJI (Youth Journalism International) blog.
Adios, I'm off to enjoy the country I love!

Royal Wedding
Thursday, 28 April 2011
There aint no future in England's dreamin'!
As much as I am sick of 'royal wedding fever', when you actually take a look at just the two of them and who they're going to be, it does feel like one of those moments in tiSo tme that you have to remember to remember.
Tacky posters and street parties aside, we're incredibly lucky to have a rich history and a monarchy who colours that history, no matter what you think of them.
We're also lucky to have two future monarchs who consider the financial hardships and restrict the biggest day of their lives so it will conform to modern standards of approval.
So yeah, sit back, relax, enjoy the weekend! Maybe catch a glimpse of the wedding, after all, you are paying for it!
For now, I'll attach a photo that had me laughing, for I truly believe THIS is the way forward. God Save the Queen a la Sex Pistols? I think so!

Royal Wedding Bombardment
Today, I have been BOMBARDED with royal wedding shit.
My teacher hit the nail on the head when she described the atmosphere as 'saturated'.
We can't take anymore!
We don't care about who sits where! We don't care about what brand of shampoo she'll use!
Media, please stop trying to shove this down our throats! You should know by now that attempting to coerce the British public into liking something is a BAD, BAD idea.
On the other hand, I did read this amusing story...
A frustrated father has written a bedtime story for his kid, who refuses to go to sleep, entitled 'Go the Fuck to Sleep'.
An extract from it is reads:
The cats nestle close to their kittens
The lambs have laid down with the sheep
You're cozy and warm in your bed, my dear
Please go the fuck to sleep
LOL! Genius. Cheered me up no end!

Wider Reading
So, for my English Literature course, I have to do a lot of reading. So I've read many 'texts'. Here's just some of the recent texts:
'A Streetcar Named Desire' - Tennessee Williams (I'm still waiting for Sky to show the brilliant film once again).
On Chesil Beach - written by the genius that is Ian McEwan.
Tess of the D'Ubervilles - still reading. Thomas Hardy is difficult at first. Sad when you know the ending though. Want to get the BBC series though. Read some of 'Far from the Madding Crowd' too.
I find it really helpful to watch adaptations of the more difficult texts e.g. Othello, MacBeth etc to visualise what you're reading. Especially if it's a play.
Then I've read Atonement, The Child in Time, Wuthering Heights (a true masterpiece, as is the song) some of Jane Eyre, Small Island, Christina Rossetti poetry, Carol Ann Duffy poetry, some of John Milton's 'Paradise Lost', Ernest Dowson, Philip Larkin, T.S Eliot, George Bernard Shaw's 'Mrs Warren's Profession' and everyone knows Romeo & Juliet. If all else fails haha. And then etc etc etc. When I write it, it seems a lot. Oooh and the Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables.
Enough for 'Love Through the Ages'? I bloody well hope so.

So yes, on DofE, apart from walking, scrambling, sweating, moaning and laughing, we did actually manage to get a peak in. Though I chose to fall asleep rather than venture to the summit, and if I'm honest, I stand by my decision :D
Though I was a little worried when I woke up as a helicopter was circling and I was sprawled out wearing orange - the distress colour. Ooops
We are all in agreement - the Duke of Edinburgh better bloody be there to give us these awards. We didn't trek for just anyone, you know! :D

WOOOOOOAH
Haven't written on here in aggggggeeeeeeees.
So what's new?
Well the big story here is the royal wedding. Not a big fan of the royal family but it's cool how the country has something to look forward to. So I'll enclose a nice picture of the couple to show my support.
Couldn't resist this awful piece of merchandise. Who buys this stuff? LOL!! Reminds me of when they started producing this stuff and they split up LOL!
Another funny is the TV movie they've brought out with these AWFUL lookalikes
vvv
So yes, I think everyone, those two included, will be relieved when the ceremony is over and they can get on with their lives in peace.
At least it's given us something to be happy about though. And it's put London on the global map again. I do so love LDN.
And in the sunshine!
Trying to think of other news. Super-injunctions?
The BGT singer, Edward Reid. So funny. Watch it.
I'll start writing again I think....it's funions ;D
